New in the Kpop Craze!

For the past 2 weeks, there have been alot of debuts and comebacks in the kpop world and I'm excited!!

Noteworthy Debut
Pledis Entertainment's new girl group Hello Venus debuted last week with their title song, Hello Venus. When I saw the pictures of the group, it did spark my interest mainly because of the girl's green mint hair and I wondered if they would be similar to After School. Guessing by the pictures, they would be cutesy and perhaps rival A Pink, but to my surprise, they are nothing like I thought they would be. The song 'Hello Venus' is actually quite catchy!! It sounds kinda spunky actually. In the video they act all cute and what not of course, but it doesn't fit the beginning of the song. But then, as it goes to the chorus, it's soooo catchy. The 'chuuuuuuuuu~~~' gets stuck in my head. And the chanting, V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, and ugh. It's catchy. I personally like the song although it has gotten alot of mixed reviews. They sound pretty good, nothing EXTRAORDINARY about them so I'm interested to see if they will transition to songs similar to After School or stay in this era. Their mini album is good, nothing really stands out except the title song and the intro 'Hello'-pretty good and contrasts greatly from the rest of the album.

Comebacks
*whispers into your ear*JYP~~~
That's right, Mr. JYP himself has made a recent comeback, and I love it. I luh him!! His music, seriously is really good. I've liked all of his older stuff because he has a classic r&b sound to him, which is extremely evident in 2pm's songs. Anyways, he came back with a duet with Ga-in from Brown Eyed Girls titled 'Someone Else'. Their voices are FANTASTIC!! Although it's awkward seeing them interact kinda sexually with each other lol. Apart from that, LOVE IT.

Since that was just a pre-release single, he had his official comeback with 'You're the One.' I LOVE IT!! The song has a sad melody but the lyrics aren't. The highlight of the video is obviously his dancing. Everyone knows that JYP was one of the best earliest dance idols in the 90's. I'm amazed that he can STILL do it!!! F JYP can do it, SO CAN YG! Anyways, I love the dance!!!

Next is the return yet again of Cube's new girl group A Pink with 'Hush Hush'. Didn't they JUST comeback seriously like a month ago with No No or whatever??? Jeez. I don't not like A Pink, but they remind me TOO MUCH of SNSD. Seriously. Their formations are in sync and dances are JUST LIKE SNSD when they first debuted. They are the cutesy group and they have of course captured Korea last year. I almost liked No No No because of their all of a sudden transformation during the bridge or whatever into a more hip hop style. When I saw that, I was anticipating that perhaps they would change and switch things up. But all of a sudden 'Hush Hush' came from nowhere and the song is mediocre. And of course, the video, is just like SNSD. Too much. It annoys me. They need their own color and style.

Next we have the mighty Junsu from DBSK/JYJ. I reviewed his full album TARANTALLEGRA here. TARANTALLEGRA according to my fellow friends is the spell from Harry Potter than means 'to dance uncontrollably.' Fitting, but unnecessary. I don't remember hearing about that spell... Like I said before, I love this song, the instrumental is epic, the choreography is impeccable!! The video makes no sense to me but that's ok, the dancing makes up for it. Also, the girl with the pretty eyes is Junsu crossdressing, just thought I would throw that in there. But yea....LOVE IT!!!!!

Lastly, we have the wonderful return of Infinite's new song 'The Chaser.' I love this song, I love this song, I love this song, I love this song, I love this song. I love Woolim Entertainment. I seriously have loved EVERY SINGLE TITLE SONG FROM INFINITE since they've debuted. Come Back, She's Back, Before the Dawn, Be Mine, Paradise, and now The Chaser. What I like about Infinite is their distinctive color. When you hear their songs, you can immediately tell it's Infinite, no matter what. Be Mine was slightly different from everything else, but still I FREAKING LOVE IT. They are extremely talented. Everyone gets to sing, they harmonize AMAZINGLY, I love their voices. THEY DANCE IMPECCABLY. And they can do all of that live too. Seriously. Infinite has been the best boy group to debut since B2ST. No one has compared. I love their style. Now, for the song, I loved it immediately it started. It once again has that 80's workout feel like Be Mine at first, but it has guitar riffs and this sad crying sound. I love it. Their voices are amazing, I can feel the emotion. The music video.....well. All of their videos are pretty dramatic lately. It starts off with L rolling around in a car for a good 50 seconds and the rest of the video, while the members dance....ok. Makes no sense, so for that, minus brownie points. They could've had more of a story line like in Be Mine and Paradise. But that's ok. I love them. And I love you L. Also, being in a car accident constantly flipping over, wouldn't there be any blood??? HELLO!

And that's it for this week. There have been other releases because every week in the kpop world, something is released. But I just talk about the noteworthy videos and ones that create enough buzz.
