You Who Came From the Stars Ep 1-2 Review

At first I was skeptical about this when casting was released along with the synopsis. But I'm a fan of Jun Ji Hyun and her return to dramas and having Kim Soo Hyun is like extra pizza toppings lmao. Plus they had pretty good chemistry in 'The Thieves' so it wouldn't hurt. I'm still not down for the whole alien thing because it does get borderline cheesy. However it has its fun moments and I'm pretty much hooked even though I don't entirely get the main plot.

Do Min Joon played by Kim Soo Hyun landed on Earth from his planet called KMT184.05 in the year 1609 and he's been on Earth for the past 400 years. Interesting. Of course he has superpowers like stopping time, telekinesis, and probably other things but he tries not to meddle with human affairs. I wouldn't blame him. After being around for 400 years, someone is bound to notice. His moral or theme for the drama is not to interfere with fate. He has learned that no matter what he does, Fortune is in control of the wheel. So he has no friends except for 1 man who knows his identity and that's it. Getting attached causes problems. He's a professor at a university. He has saved a girl numerous times (Jun Ji Hyun's younger self) and he's trying to find her. CUTEEEEEEE.

Choon Song Yi played by Jun Ji Hyun is a popular actress known for being dumb and arrogant lmao. Seriously. She even has a Twitter account you can actually follow and see her stupid mistakes LMAO. She's not extremely shallow, her character has layers so that when she's made fun of, you do feel sympathetic because of her family issues and the problems with the Korean industry (reminds me of Greatest Love). She too is looking for the guy who saved her when she was young! CUTE!

The first episode is just character introductions. I look more forward to Song Yi's and Min Joon's interactions than anything because Jun Ji Hyun is SOOO FUNNY! She gives it her all when she acts silly haha. I wasn't hooked nor am I sold on the alien thing but hopefully as the drama progresses we will get a clearer plot.

This episode pretty much got me hooked on the drama!! We find out that Min Joon is leaving after 3 months! Oh noooo! So we have a clock. He's also an asshole hahahaha. He exploits Song Yi's plagiarism in front of cameras like c'mon. That was REALLLLLLLLLLY RUDE. But we see that he's starting to care more about her wellbeing and displays jealousy! Also, he finds out that Song Yi is the girl he's been looking for so I'm interested in seeing how he's gonna relay that message and tell her that btw I'M AN ALIENNNNNNNNNNN. Again more commentary on Korean society and comedy!

The only question I would like to add and hope that producers will answer is how and why he landed on Earth and why he's deciding to go back now??
