I Hear Your Voice Final Episode Review

I know I'm a little behind in posting this but better late than never haha plus I've been busy.
I Hear Your Voice has finally come to an end after an extra week of episodes and it still couldn't wrap things up entirely for me.

It is a happy ending of course, like we all knew it would be. Min Joong Guk ends up being captured thanks to Soo Ha alerting Lawyer Cha about Hye Sung's kidnapping. Lawyer Cha ends up calling the police and SWAT team arrive ready to take Min Joong Guk down.
The show ends with Soo Ha and Hye Sung getting together and live with their cuteness forever. There could be a possible love line between Lawyer Cha and Seo Deo Yeon and I am 100% there fore it. Min Joong Guk gets life in prison instead of the death penalty which works for me and everyone else I think. And finally we get a glimpse on why and how Min Joong Guk became a murderer and the reason for his revenge.

Jang Hye Sung definitely displays her growth alot in the final episode. We see that she actually cares about her job and she's not just living her life as a public defender but instead doing her best as a public defender. I wouldn't say that she has had tremendous growth but her personality has definitely changed for the better. She finally learns how to express her love a bit better compared to before. She was always very stubborn even with her mother so after her death, she transformed into a loving person who cares about people more than just herself. She stopped being selfish. She expressed her love to Soo Ha after reading his diary he kept during those 11 years apart.  We all grew to love her character, even I hated her too at first hahaha but it's good to know she's more dependable now.
Final Thoughts on Jang Hye Sung: I already know that Lee Bo Young is a great actress and she's pretty famous in Korea. Granted, I have not seen any of her other works but she did play this character really well!! She didn't have too many layers but she displayed the right emotions: bland, happy, sad, vunerable, anger. It was great. She showed tremendous growth and Lee Bo Young played Hye Sung perfectly!!

Park Soo Ha was perfect in every way. I loved his character and partly it was because of Lee Jong Suk haha. In the final showdown against Min Joon-guk, he showed us that he wouldn't become a monster like Joon-guk became. That was Min Joon-guk's plan, to have Soo Ha kill him and frame him for murder again. But Soo-ha wouldn't do it, no matter how hard Min Joon-guk pushed to get him to do it. After Soo Ha's summons for attempted murder was dropped, he was able to go to the Police Academy and fast forward, Soo Ha's a police officer!! WAY 2 GO!!
Final Thoughts on Soo Ha: I have seen Lee Jong Suk in so many roles, from School 2013, and R2B and let me just say, he's a GREAT ACTOR. I was skeptical of him at first, but he proved all of Korea he definitely has the acting chops and he's not just a model. He can ACT. In Soo Ha we saw so many different emotions and Lee Jong Suk played him flawlessly. At first he had a 1 dimension type personality, but once he lost his memory and started going crazy and what not, I saw the anger in his eyes, I saw the hurt in his eyes when he stabbed Hye Sung I saw the sadness and lonliness and I saw the love. Perfect. 2013 is Lee Jong Suk's year!! He's played so many different roles it's incredible. He's funny, and now he showed us the melodrama side of him. Props. I wouldn't say that his character changed in terms of character, but he's had the most growth obviously. He's finally a man.

Min Joon-guk. I started feeling sorry for him myself in the last episode. He only wanted to save his wife man. Soo Ha's dad was totally in the wrong, just for Soo Ha's mom to die anyways after the rejection of the heart transplant. Honestly that would've killed me and I totally see why Min Joon-guk went to the dark side. He just wanted to save his wife and he lost horribly to Soo Ha's dad. Painful stuff. But where he went wrong at is obviously when he decided to become a psychopath. I think the great moral of this story is to not exact revenge and just let God handle that stuff. Soo Ha's mom dying would've been enough for me (even though that is totally wrong to say) because that would've been my revenge. If Min Joon-guk had just let God handle it, that would've been the karma and they both could've lived without their wives. Sounds wrong but what can you do. Min Joon-guk didn't have to go kill Soo-ha's father. But hey, I can't really blame him for seeking revenge like that.
Final Thoughts on Min Joon-guk: I love villains with story lines. Jung Woong In played Min Joon-guk fantastically. Great actor. I loved him in the last 2 episodes because that's when we saw the most emotion out of him throughout the entire drama. The flashbacks to his dying wife, up to right before he was sent to prison in the final episode. Great actor. I think we all felt sympathy for him at one point but he chose that path and now he has to rot in prison. Be sure to look out for him on the "I Hear Your Voice" parody on Running Man!!!!

This was a great drama. I did enjoy about the first 10 episodes because of it's originality but then it crossed over into the typical makjang/melo concept and it almost lost me. I was getting so tired of the drama I almost gave up on it. Right when Soo Ha lost his memory, I felt like that was such an unnecessary detour in plot it killed me. Yes everything pieced together in the end, but it wasn't necessary to me. This drama was so fresh and funny that when it went down that hole, I stopped liking it. It was so good at first, but I think the writers got a little too carried away. It did have it's good moments however, it did keep the elements of suspense and humor which I liked, just the storyline lost me. I do recommend this drama, it had been a while since I saw a great Korean comedy! The actors were great, perfect cast too be honest, not a single actor was lacking in anything so kudos to the casting directors, everyone had great chemistry!!
Drama Rating: 7.0/10

I Hear Your Voice Episodes 1-3 Marathon Review!

New drama starring Lee Jong Suk and Lee Bo Young in a romantic comedy about an interesting private investigation crew filled with lawyers and a teen who can read minds! Sounds interesting....
When I watched the trailer it bored me so I wrote it off (even though I love LEE JONG SUK) but since it has high viewer ratings, I decided to give it a chance! You can watch I Hear Your Voice for free on Drama Fever airing now!

Episode 1 sets our main characters up by mixing between the past and the present, but not in an annoying way. Jang Hye Sung is going out for an interview to become an investigator but she has competition against hundreds of other people. In order to stand out, she tries coming up with things no one has heard before like saying I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm only here for the money but they don't want to hire her. BUT, right before she leaves, she's able to draw the interviewers by telling them a cliff-hanging story...about why she wanted to become an investigator....
A young Hye Sung is accused of hitting her friend Do-yeon in the eye with fireworks and is of course, framed by her "friend" Do-yeon. Shocking. Do yeon's father just HAPPENS to be a judge so they're rich and can do whatever they want. As punishment for harming their daughter, Hye Sung and her mother are forced to move elsewhere and expel Hye Sung from school. Now THAT'S cruel.
One night, Hye Sung confronts Do Yeon but are stopped in the middle of their argument by the sound of a deadly car crash. They arrive on the scene and spot a man in a large truck step out of his vehicle with a bat and smash the windows of the car of the victims of the car crash. Inside is a father and his son. The father is beat to death with the rod but the son is still ALIVE and can read the killer's mind!! Oh dear....
Hye sung spots that the little boy is in danger so she opens her phone out to take a picture but the sound is on and makes a loud SMILE! sound. The killer reels around and spots Hye Sung and Do yeon...Ahhh CRAPPP. He starts chasing them with his bat!!
Luckily they're able to get away and hide in nearby bushes, but the murderer calls out to them since he senses their presence.
If any of you say a WORD about this to the police, I will kill you AND your family!! He had to die because he talked too much, therefore, you know what will happen if YOU talk to much!!!

Swell.
The police arrive which scares him off....
It's laying on the girl's conscious that they should report it to the police (mainly Hye Sung) but the 2 make a bet. Do Yeon will clear Hye Sung's name if Hye Sung goes to court as a witness. But Do Yeon has to go as well since SHE originally had plans to act as a witness. Both are obviously bluffing and scared, but they won't call each other out.
So both girls arrive at the court on day of the trial. But only Hye Sung goes inside to be a witness! Do Yeon that wench!!!!

Lee Jong Suk as Park Soo Ha
Park Soo Ha, the little boy in the car accident can read minds. He knew the killers motive and everything....the only problem is, Park Soo Ha can't talk....GREAT. Soo Ha is still under traumatic stress and shock so it's only natural that an 8 year old would lose his ability to speak. PERFECT TIMING.
He reveals to the court that he can read minds but OF COURSE NO ONE BELIEVES HIM and there are no witnesses to account for Soo Ha.
BUT LUCKILY Hye Sung arrives to save the day!!
She pushed through her fears and served as a witness to the crime!!

Fast forward to now....
We don't know if Hye Sung gets the job or not, but the interviewers sure are interested in knowing the ending!
Park Soo Ha is now a high school student who is looking for Hye Sung to offer his protection as gratitude. He made a vow that he would protect Hye Sung from the killer when he gets out of jail.
He's just gotta find her.
Well now I'm officially interested in this story!!

And now we have our first case!!
Hye Sung is now a public defender and her first case is attempted murder. Of course.
Go Song Bin (Soo Ha's classmate) is accused of pushing a girl, who was bullied alot for plastic surgery, out of the window. From the looks of it she tried to commit suicide, but we aren't really clear. We just know that Song Bin didn't do it.
Song Bin went into the music room at school (by herself) and started painting her nails. All of a sudden a girl drops to the ground and classmates gather outside. Since Song Bin looks out of the window to see what the commotion was about, the students start accusing her since no one else was around in that room. Great.
Prosecutor WHO JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE DO YEON charges her with attempted murder (since the girl didn't die, she's in a coma).
There's no evidence and Song Bin isn't portraying herself as someone innocent too, so she's pretty much going to get charged as guilty.
But Hye Sung takes her case for free. There's no evidence and there's no way of believing Song Bin so she tells her to just admit to being guilty. Wow. Cruel.
Song Bin is crushed at the thought of going to jail so she attempts suicide at the subway station.
Soo-ha who is on the other side of the train station, notices her and listens to her thoughts. He finds out that she's going to kill herself and rushes over to her right before she could jump into the train's path. Talk about perfect timing.
Soo-ha believes her (btw Song Bin has a huge crush on Soo ha that everyone in school knows but him) and finds out that Hye Sung is in charge of her case.
Soo-ha ends up revealing to Hye Sung the day of the trial that he can read minds (but not his identity). Because the case is very similar to how Hye Sung was treated, and after seeing Do Yeon as the prosecutor, Hye Sung changes her mind and decides to defend Song Bin.
All they need is the evidence now.

Lee Jung Seok is KILLING me in this drama. He is soooooo cute and his love for Hye Sung. I also like how  they're going to be using his ability which is very interesting. I'm here for the potential romance and to see how this case ends. I'm interested. AND IT'S FUNNY too, the cast has great chemistry so far!

Hye Sung-1, Do Yeon-0
During the trial, Hye sung is able to use Soo-ha's ability to tell if her defense is good enough for rebuttal. Everything works out just fine, until Do Yeon calls in to bring the victim as a witness. I can see where this is going...
Of course the victim lies and Soo-bin goes OFF on her. She's cussing and swearing and threatening that she will kill her, and of course this trial goes down the drain.
So Do yeon has the upper hand and makes fun of Hye sung.
Hye sung is just about ready to give up, but thanks to her mother showing up and humiliating her, Hye Sung agrees to see the case out (also because Soo-ha bargains with her to do it).

Kwan-woo (aka Gwangsoo haha) is also a part of the same law firm as Hye Sung and they team up together to see if they can bring up some evidence! Yea!!
They go undercover as high school students and find out that the victim was actually a smoker! She was chilling in the window sill which is her regular spot and Song bin walks in. Because the victim was going to debut soon in an entertainment agency, she couldn't get caught that she was a smoker. But since Song Bin came in, it scared her and she hid, and while she was hiding in the window sill she ACCIDENTALLY fell over. Really doe.....
So now we're ready for the next trial with evidence, hoping that the victim will tell the truth this time!

Before they could even start, Do yeon claims that If you change your statement after swearing an oath this time, one of your statements will be seen as a lie and you can go to jail for up to 5 years. WITCHHHHHHHHHH
Now the victim is like, I'LL JUST LIE THEN
But thanks to...
Lawyer Shin, Hye Sung is able to bring up that in the code, you have to be over 16 years old to swear an oath. The victim is still 15, so she can change her testament no matter what and not receive consequences. *cues Lee Hyori's "U-go-girl"*
So Jang Hye Sung-1, Seo Do yeon-0 TAKE THAT

Meanwhile, Min Joon Kook just got out of prison, and he's been following Hye Sung around. He knows where she lives and her profession. Ohhhh great!! Thankfully, Soo-ha is onto that because he heard Joon Kook's voice amongst the crowd one day...Omo
Joon Kook, unbeknownst to Hye Sung, had been sending Hye Sung text messages saying I'll Be There
She thought it was Soo-ha but he shot that down.
So Hye Sung FINALLY decides to call the number and the ringtone just happens to I'll Be There by the Jackson 5 and it starts going off IN HER APARTMENT
CREEEEEEEEEEPPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Soo-ha figures that out too and rushes to get to Hye Sung's apartment but will he be too late????
