Rooftop Prince Ep 1 Review

Well. Episode 1 was a confuzzled mess in my opinion, but I liked it. It started off in the Joseon era and Yoochun(the crown prince) finds his beloved crown princess dead in the pond. WHAT TO DO WHAT TO DO, FIND THE KILLER!!

Then we reminiscence on the wonderful memories on how the crown prince meets his crown princess. THE KIDS ARE ADORABLE omg. Anyways, that was nice, we get the backdrop on the evil older sister who becomes the crown princess. The good, younger one becomes a loser.

Fast forward to the 21st century in New York. We meet Yoochun and the younger sister. Turns out, Yoochun's modern character is the grandson of the president of a major company. He doesn't like that lifestyle so he refuses to go to Korea. His cousin that is trying to get him to return and perhaps steal the company position punches Yoochun, hits his head and falls off the boat unconscious. Of course the evil cousin doesn't save him. So he drowns. The younger sister's modern character is looking for her father because the evil older sister separated them.  THEN we go back to the Joseon era as we try to find out who killed the crown princess and Yoochun hires his investigation crew. As they ride off into the night on their horses, they travel through space I guess and end up in the modern era. In younger sister's apartment. Ha. ARE YOU CONFUSED.

Yea, you kinda have to watch it to get it, but this episode is filled with flaws. The camera isn't all that good. There are moments when he captures the cast beautifully, but then we they have to run or zoom out, it gets all shaky and amateurish. Two, it's cheesy. Three, overdramatic, but that's on the actors part. AND IT WAS CONFUSING. It seemed like they put a good 3 episodes all in 1. They could have did episode 1, focus on the memories and her death and investigation. Episode 2 could've been about the modern era. Episode 3 would be the meet up. Just poor editing, but I understand, the time slot and there's only 20 episodes.

The next episode looks really promising and hilarious so I'm excited to watch it. Hopefully we can get past the cheesiness and exaggeration of things.
