Bridal Mask Episode 5 Review

Kang-to ends up shooting Mok Dan and freaking out about it since he did shoot the love of his life except she's his enemy. Typical.

While he tries to pick her up, Evil Son was tipped off by the traitor from the circus troupe, so he knew they were gonna attempt to kill Kang-to. However, once he saw that they didn't succeed, Evil Son starts shooting at Kang-to. Enter Gaksital, and he starts blocking him, letting Kang-to get away to take Mok Dan to the hospital.

Evil Son starts torturing the traitor because how could Gaksital just show up which I agree. He needs to stop butting in because people will definitely connect him with Kang-to. Just get back to the plan and crusade at night!

Evil Son appoints the traitor as his spy. Great. The wench.

Shunji is still upset over the way Kang-to acted and keeps replaying his words, not really believing he would shred Mok Dan to pieces. He is then told that Kang-to shot Mok Dan. Great. He rushes to the hospital and punches Kang-to in the face. Dannnnnnnng.

They have a little talk outside and Shunji is pissed, claiming that Kang-to knew that was his precious Esther but he shot her anyway. Uh oh. And now we sever ties. Kang-to is Boon Yi's childhood friend which he loves, Mok Dan, who is Esther, is Shunji's childhood friend, which he loves. So. The friendship will now be severed because Shunji will fight Kang-to when it comes to Mok Dan, and Kang-to must kill her or keep her as bait for Gaksital not to let down his position. This is ironic. Shunji who is Japanese is defying his roots to be friends with Kang-to and Mok Dan, while Kang-to is betraying his country and family to be with the Japanese. But now Mok Dan is the problem. Great!!!!

We find out the reason why Rie is so interested in Kang-to, he saved her 5 years ago, but I don't understand the reason why she wants to kill him. Would she have rather died??

The traitor tells the Evil Son that his brother, Shunji, also rushed to the hospital to see Mok Dan. So he sits down and tries to figure out the Gaksital, Kang-to, and Mok Dan connection. It hits him. Shunji is Gaksital. RETARDED. He goes to his brother and accuses him and they fight. Ridiculous.

Just as they are leaving, Gaksital shows up and attacks Kenji and is about to kill him, when Shunji calls out, 'HYUNG!' Gaksital escapes and now Kenji has proof that his brother CLEARLY isn't Gaksital. Ok.

The Bank is going bankrupt, so the people of Korea aren't getting their money since it's run by the Council of Five, they're laughing it off because they are still getting paid either way. Douchebags.

Mok Dan is trying to escape but she is too weak. Kang-to comes in to keep a look after her. She really does hate him but I can see the pain because he's struggling with the past and the present. She still doesn't know that he is Lee Young but what difference does that make now. It's too late to go back since Kang-to SHOT HER ASS!

Kang-to is then told that Gaksital is robbing the bank. Turns out, he's giving the money back to the Joseon people! Good! Finally doing what he's SUPPOSED to do instead of wasting time saving people. Kang-san drops from the sky, looking regular, but right in front of his mother. He drops the mask and makes the connection!! *gasp* Just then, Kenji and his crew show up as she hides the mask. Kenji finally guesses right this time and it's not like Kang-san denies it. He just stands there. Kenji starts threatening them and he threatens to shoot the mother!! She tells Kang-san not to resist and she throws herself at Kenji and...

He shoots her.

Kenji is then told that Gaksital robbed the bank and rushes off, thinking he guessed wrong again. A little late there buddy.

Sad. The mother dies. 

This was a good episode. We now see Kang-to has a huge dilemma. Letting Mok Dan go as a friend for Shunji? Or doing his duty and keeping her locked up to be used as bait? But what does his heart say? Let go of the past??
