Bridal Mask Episode 7 Review

This episode is basically about us sorting through what just happened as the result of Kenji's death and Shunji sealing his fate.

After seeing Gaksital killing his brother, Shunji chases after Kang-to and shoots him in the woods. He ends up falling off a cliff into the water and we presume he's dead but of course he isn't.

The police department are searching for his corpse and Shunji is hella pissed but they have to go back and give up for the night.

Shunji has to report to his father, and we find him, instead of mourning for the loss of his son, playing golf in his office. Really? But Father just plays if off and calls the newspapers to announce that Shunji killed Gaksital. Well, Shunji's fate is now sealed. He's gonna have to become his father's wing man now that Kenji is dead. But Shunji doesn't want this, he's just an elementary school teacher. Too late.

Cut to Kang-to. He's in the hospital and he wakes up but he's a bit...off. I couldn't tell if he was dreaming or what but apparently it's real we find out later. As they are wheeling out Kenji's corpse, Shunji sees Kang-to and assumes Gaksital attacked him too. Wrong.

Rie starts to make her move on the people and goes to the popular night club that only the Japanese affiliated go to. She gives the girls expensive gifts and sucks up and sings because she is now working there.

At the funeral, everyone is paying their respects and Konno shows up and says, 'Just as he was assigned the case to capture Gaksital this happens.' That's cold, and def not the place to bring that up in. Like why would you say that? Your son is incompetent that's why I only wanted Kang-to to do the case because at least he isn't dead like WTF? But Kimura overlooks that and states he'll console himself with Gaksital being dead.

The search party continues at the river and Mok Dan's dumb self goes to see for herself if Gaksital is really dead. She's really annoying. She goes under water and finds her precious knife and comes to the realization that 'Young Master' is Gaksital just like she always thought. Ok. Move along. Oh, but it's ironic isn't it?? Because yes, Kang-to is the 'Young Master' and he's Gaksital. But she doesn't know that. Oh the suspense!

We go back to Kang-to and he really is in the hospital. We find out that Kang-to has the perfect alibi and that NO ONE would suspect him of being Gaksital or even being affiliated with him now. But it's just so ironic now.

Cut to the memorial alter, and Shunji finds his father crying out loud over Kenji. Oh, he really does have a heart. I mean who wouldn't. Even though Kenji was a tool, he was still family.

Kang-to goes back to his village and EVERYONE hates him. They start throwing rocks, eggs, shoes and everything at him. That's rude. But you can't blame the people. Gaksital, their hero is supposedly dead. But still, they could've showed a little sympathy for his family. They flippin set his home on fire!!!!

Shunji arrives and saves Kang-to but that really makes matters worst. Here comes the man that killed Gaksital. Awwwwwwwwwwwkward.

The two ride off on a bike and cry. Man, this scene was sad. Shunji is crying over his brother's death, wishing that Gaksital had been captured sooner so that Kenji wouldn't be dead and that he wasn't so preoccupied with trying to capture him. It's a sad situation. But I couldn't just sit there and take that. I would be sooooooo apologetic because I killed your brother...as Gaksital. But, whatever.

Rie meets with Kimura and tells him to stir up some controversy with the Joseon people. Since they look up to Gaksital so much, they need to view him as a murderer now. Before Kang-san died, he had robbed the bank and gave money to the Joseon people, so Kimura sends out his soldiers to beat the people. Sad.

Kang-to goes to the house where Kang-san and his bodyguard had their secret meetings and he sees Kang-san's Hit List. And now he knows what he must do.
