New Summer 2013 Dramas!!

Now that Gu Family Book, Mandate of Heaven, and Jang Ok Jung have ended, it's time for the 2nd half of summer dramas to pick up in those empty time slots! Here are the Top 3 Dramas scheduled to air the week of July 1.
Goddess of Fire
Starring Moon Geun Young and Lee Sang-yoon in this historical sageuk about the first female potter in Joseon. We follow her romance with Lee Sang Yoon's character and it seems to go along the path of Forbidden Love or whatever. It looks quite boring. The only reason I will give it a try is because Ki Bum and Lee Gwangsoo are supposed to be in this drama. Hopefully it will be better than this trailer because there is just nothing keeping me here for more than 3 episodes.
In this trailer, it seems really boring
But this trailer actually looks kind of good except...where's the pottery??

The Sword and the Flower
Starring Uhm Tae Woong, Kim Ok Bin, Choi Min Soo, Park Su jin
The historical drama takes place in the twilight years of Goguryeo. King Yeongnyu plots to kill military general Yeon Gaesomun, whose power and influence are rapidly overtaking the throne's. But Yeon Gaesomun discovers the plot and kills those involved, including the king, and becomes a military dictator. Yeongnyu's daughter, the princess Mu-young vows to avenge her father's death, but she falls in love with her enemy's son.
Typical plot line but the visuals look stunning and it's a stellar cast!! I'm most excited for this one because of the cast and hopefully they will turn something historical into modern entertainment since this drama is somewhat non-fictional.
Stunning visuals!! This sums up the drama
More focused on the romance aspect of the drama

Empire of Gold
Starring Go Soo, Lee Yo-won, Sohn Hyun-joo
The drama will follow Go Soo and Sohn Hyun-joo’s twenty-year war to rise to the top of a chaebol conglomerate, with Lee Yo-won caught in the middle between her love for Go Soo, the man who came from nothing but wants to tear her family down, and loyalty to Sohn Hyun-joo.
From the directors of The Chaser (drama not movie which I recommend you watch both) we can expect a good plot! I watched The Chaser and it's my favorite drama, it had flawless actors, flawless plot, life lessons, it was great. So I'm heading into this with high expectations and I hope they don't disappoint!

So it seems there will be no rom-coms coming up until the dramas that are airing now ends and we prepare for Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub in their drama. Be sure to tune in next week for the premiers!!
