Five Fingers Final Review

T_T oh dear, where to start.

In Ha is finally released from prison and finds out that Young Rang went missing. They find out that she went back to the home that Ji Ho grew up in before he was taken in by Yoo Man See. Chae Young Rang has completely lost her eye sight now. She is still prideful until the end and wants nothing to do with Ji Ho, because she doesn't want him to feel pitiful about her.
In the end, while Ji Ho said his goodbye to her because he was going to Germany, Young Rang finally came to the realization that she really needed him and finally said she was sorry. T_T She went wondering after him...and fell off a cliff...she died in the hospital....T_T

Da Mi: She really wanted to end up with Ji Ho, however, because of the family issue, we all knew they couldn't end up together. She finally accepted that she couldn't be with Ji Ho. At the end with the airport scene, she went to see Ji Ho off, but she never said anything to him. As long as she sees Ji Ho doing well, she doesn't mind not being with him. I think if she were to find out that everything they did was almost in vain, then I don't think she would have been brave enough to be with Ji Ho. Who knows. The way this drama ended, I'm not sure if they actually do end up together....What do you guys think?
Final Words on Da Mi: I'm glad she was able to move on. There wasn't much to her character however throughout this drama...once again with Jin Sae Yeon. In "Gaksital" she wasn't able to show us much of her, and so I think the same thought applies here. Because she was so innocent and naive and blinded by love, that's all there is to her. I think her mother and brother expressed more hatred for Young Rang than her so I think her love for Ji Ho covered all that up to an extent. I don't have much to say about her character. Sae Yeon acted pretty good, did what her character was supposed to, but I wish she would give me more...
In Ha: He finally accepted his brother Ji Ho and calls him hyung now. Going to jail did good for him, although In Ha showed signs of change a couple of episodes back. After seeing how Young Rang lived on that island,  In Ha shaped up and stopped having the inferiority complex and finally trusted his brother. I'm glad he turned his life around and stopped being a complete jerk.
Final Words on In Ha: Ji Chang Wook played this character perfectly. In Ha developed the inferiority complex after being thrown into the pool by his father. In Ha always wanted to please Yoo Man Se so once Ji Ho came into the picture, his world was shaken and all he had was his mother because Young Rang always had so much love for him. In Ha would do anything for his mother but after the fire incident, something clicked inside his brain and he developed the complex.
Everything was a complete misunderstanding and so if the drama had been resolved earlier I don't think In Ha would have hated Ji Ho so much.
In Ha, in a way, is very similar to Ji Ho. Like Ji Ho, In Ha only wanted acceptance from everyone and be #1 in his field. Because of Yoo Man Se, In Ha developed the inferior complex. After realizing that Yoo Man Se did care for him and that he used everyone for revenge, In Ha calmed down. He grew up so much but too late...

Ji Ho: Poor, poor Ji ho...All he wanted, was a loving family. After being abandoned by parents, living on an island and all of a sudden being told your father wants you to live with his family...That's all Ji Ho wanted. To have a family. And after finally settling with Young Rang, he decided to go to Germany. I think we all knew that in order for Ji Ho to succeed and move on with his life, Young Rang HAD to die. The past would be too burdensome for Ji ho. He had to move on, and that's most likely why no one told him his mother died 3 years later. Ji Ho had to get on the plane in order to finally live knowing that he had a mother and father who cared for him. By breaking the news that Young Rang was dead, would just ruin him. So they decided to let Ji Ho leave knowing that Young Rang did care for him even though she never said it to him out loud.
Final Words on Ji Ho: Like I said, poor poor Ji Ho. Just when he had his family back, Young Rang dies. Joo Ji Hoon played this character flawlessly. Great emotion, I literally saw anger in his eyes, great actor. I knew it would be hard for Ji Ho to forgive Young Rang so quickly, but at the same time he desperately needed a real mother. Young Rang did not prove to be trustworthy enough to him, so he too kept acting like he didn't need her. But eventually, I'm glad he broke down, however he too was too late.

Chae Young Rang: This is some sad ass shit...In the end, pride got to her. If she had shown her affection towards Ji Ho instead of constantly reminding him that she will never love him, I don't think she would've died like that. Even after finally sincerely asking for forgiveness, she deserved to go blind, and she deserved to die. Ji Ho said multiple times that before she can die, she HAS to first repent and ask for forgivness. Well, right before she fell off the cliff, she was calling out to Ji Ho saying she was sorry and asking for forgiveness. And with that, she died...just freaking wow.
Final Words on Chae Young Rang: Once again, all she wanted in her life was to play the piano and live happily with the love of her life...but her mother. She didn't purposefully want to end up the way she ended up. She developed a severe mother complex because after her first child was taken away, she had to smother In Ha. Some thing clicked insider her mentally. Chae Se Ra played this role FANTASTICALLY. Seriously. She should win a freaking Emmy, Oscar, Blue Dragon Award or something because that was just...ugh. Favorite Korean Actress, I have found her, love it. Just, I cannot express how amazing she was in this drama.
Chae Young Rang changed the most(obviously). She went from killing her husband, to turning her son into a monster, to ruining Ji Ho, and to loving Ji Ho. I really did feel bad for her because she only wanted to love Jeung Wook and play the piano and support In Ha, that's it. Instead, her overbearing Mother complex got the best of her. But still, she seeked atonement and was punished by Heaven, but died on the good side.

Drama In a Nutshell: Yoo Man Se, rich man, owner of BooSung Piano Company, is in love with a famous pianist Chae Young Rang. Chae Young Rang is in love with another man Wong Kook(can't remember). Young Rang's stepmother pushes her to marry a chaebol, and gets rid of her child. Young Rang never loved Yoo Man se, and for that he seeks revenge, knowing that one day she would kill him. He uses Ji Ho and In Ha to fight against each other in various competitions in order to get revenge on Young Rang in the end. Eventually, Man Se's plans are flawlessly executed, leaving the family torn and battered filled with secrets and murder and love.

Final Thoughts on the Drama: Amazing, best melodrama I've ever seen. Take the time to watch it seriously. It is the makjangs of makjangs!!!! I loved this drama because of the plot and the characters. At first I almost gave up on this drama because the basic story line of revenge is reoccurent in so many dramas it's ridiculous. However, once we got to the heart of the plot, it just killed me. This is the best revenge plot I've seen. The things a family will do for love and power...Also, the 360 degree character changes. Going from evil to atonement...it's amazing. Tell your Korean drama watching friends to watch this!!!!!!

SHOUT OUT TO MAH GIRL MONICA USSIN who made me stick with this drama but I was the one who told her to watch it in the first place lol
