Hana Kimi vs To the Beautiful You

It has occurred to me that alot of people haven't seen Hana Kimi. You guys are just watching 'To the Beautiful You' just for Min Ho and Sulli. I feel like, if you want the true experience, you should watch 'Hana Kimi' first, then 'To the Beautiful You'. It's best to compare them.

Also, the Korean adaptation is taking alot of things out, and they are adding things as well. So, if you want to truly become a fan of 'To the Beautiful You' you need to first appreciate the awesomeness of its originator! Trust me. Hana Kimi is so awesome, I really didn't want there to be a Korean version because I was afraid it would completely ruin it. But so far, it's not bad at all. I just wish they put the cheesyness, awesomeness into this drama. It's the same director from 'Boys Over Flowers' and that wasn't done well at all even though it's good. BUT, it's too early to judge. Even if I hadn't seen 'Hana Kimi' I would stick around for 'To the Beautiful You'.

And, if you're interested in Hana Kimi, don't watch it after you finish 'To the Beautiful You' because it'll ruin your perception. I don't want your love for Min Ho to cloud your judgement. Please, I beg you to watch Hana Kimi first, then watch the remake!!!!!!! EXPERIENCE THE AWESOME!

  1. you're absolutely right!I watched HANA KIMI long time ago since I was in high school. In my opinion Japanese version always full of emotions while Korean ver is more flashy with beautiful actors/actresses and scenes. But I like Japanese versions more than Korean because they always stick close to the original manga and the acting skills of actors/actresses in Japanese ver are also better that I can get more emotions while watching it. Honestly, I am watching Korean version right now, but sometime I feel quite bored with it and skip some scenes. It's not really attracted me to the point of excited to wait for the next episodes and till the end. I only like it for its handsome actors. Watching Korean ver makes me feel like to watch Japanese ver again.

    1. Yep, I totally agree with, there is nothing really appealing with these Korean remakes except for the visuals.

  2. Yup. I agree with you. I thought of yelling at my friend when all she said about Minho being hot and sulli is cute and how she love them. When I told her to watch her to start with hana kimi she said she isn't interested in Japanese. I thought of slapping her. I'm a kpop fan but To the beautiful you and boys over flower can't beat hana kimi and hana yori dango. I watch the Jap first and then korea and i felt a bit of disappointed. I love all the crazy thing the Jap made and I don't really like the cheesy thing korea make.

    1. YEA, I want people to have the actual experience of enjoying the original, than watching the Korean remake that makes no sense. This remake is a complete disappointment...

  3. I absolutely love Hana Kimi and I try not to be so critical about To the Beautiful You. Sure, a girl needs her dose of cheesy love scenes, but it seems like the Korean version is aiming the drama for teenage girls who love Minho and not the plot itself. Maybe a girl crossdressing as a boy in an all boy school and not getting caught fast enough is too much, but the fact that this exaggeration made many people feel something and connected to its eccentric characters can never be achieved by the Korean version.

    >.< I don't want to sound like I hate To the Beautiful You, but if they have 16 episodes to fill, and I'm already at 13, and they JUST started talking about Sano's dad now... they really haven't found the balance.

    ... :D

  4. I love Hana Kimi wayyyyyyy better than the Korean version! >_< But I think the korean version is fine too. :)

Cuz in Hana Kimi, everything is dramatically exciting and childish just like the manga but in the korean version, it's more to hmmmm.... I don't know, serious much maybe?

Plus when the dorm boys fight in Hana Kimi, everything seems soooo EPIC even though they really look serious.

But well, I think in the korean version it's more to school love-ish drama type not school love+comedy+exxageration overloaded drama type. :D
Well,I still prefer Hana Kimi. :)

  5. Yeah totally agree, hana kimi was more of a dramatic type than that of To The Beautiful You.The cast of Hana Kimi really portrayed their roles very well. The drama and fun was balance where you really appreciate the plot of the story rather than watching it just because its's fun.

    1. But the quality of this drama still sucked. You shouldn't only compare the looks of something to talent because that was pretty much non existent in To the Beautiful You.
